Originally known as Osterhase (Easter Hare) in Germany. The Osterhase was first mentioned in German writings as far back as the 1500's.

• Also if your egg had 2 egg yolks it was a sign that you would become very rich.
• Eggs were always blessed before they were eaten.
• Cooking Eggs on Good Friday and eating them on Easter Sunday would improve Fertilty and could prevent Sudden Death.
• The first Easter Eggs were made from solid chocolate and not hollow as they are now.
