So how old is Mickey Mouse?
- Mickey Mouse is now 96 yrs old this year! He was created by Walt Disney on November the 18th 1928 appearing in his first short film called steam boat willie and was easily recognisable in his red shorts, large yellow shoes and white gloves. His original name was intended to be Mortimer Mouse but was changed to Mickey Mouse as Lillian disney did not like the original name thinking it sounded too pompous.
- Mickeys girlfriend Minnie Mouse is also 96 yrs old this year appearing along side him in his first film steam boat willie, they where also joined by other friends later on including Donald Duck in 1934, Pluto in 1930, Daisy Duck in 1940 and Chipanddale in 1943.
